The NEREA project aims to promote the development of new indicators for ocean health and new models of ocean microbiomes by coupling traditional physical, chemical, and biological measurements with omics approaches (i.e. metabarcoding, metagenomics, metatranscriptomics). The simultaneous DNA and RNA extraction and the production of metagenomics, metatracriptomics and metabarcoding datasets from filters of different size fraction (0. 2-3 µm, 3-20 µm and 20-200 µm), collected during samplings carried out at different sites in the Gulf of Naples (Mediterranean Sea, Italy), allow to determine the structure and function of the ocean microbiome......
